What Is an Organization?

Learn how organizations work and when to create one.

An organization in Leaf is a shared calendar for a group, club, church, business, or community. It lets you manage multiple calendars under one umbrella.

How Organizations Work

Instead of managing separate calendars, an organization lets you:

  • Create multiple calendars (e.g., one for events, one for meetings)
  • Share them with members
  • Control who can create, edit, or view plans
  • Set consistent roles and permissions across calendars

Personal vs. Organization Calendar

Personal Calendar

  • Just you
  • Good for your own events
• Limited sharing options

Organization Calendar

  • Multiple members
  • Structured roles (admin, organizer, member)
  • Better for groups, clubs, or businesses

When to Use an Organization

Create an organization if:

  • You're managing a club, group, or team
  • Multiple people need to create and manage events
  • You have different groups (departments, teams, circles) that each need their own calendar
  • You want consistent branding and permissions

Examples of Organizations

  • Sports leagues and running clubs
  • Churches and faith communities
  • Apartment buildings or HOAs
  • Small businesses and restaurants
  • Schools and student groups
  • Friend groups that plan regularly
